Amar Eco-Plaster is led by Norfolk-based lime plasterer Daahir Mohamed. Daahir worked in the conservation and home renovation industry in Bristol for the last 15 years, moving to Norfolk in summer 2024 with his family, and relocating his business.
He specialises in plastering and rendering, using natural and traditional materials is important to us. We put a special emphasis for the repair and retrofit of pre-1900 buildings, in line with key sustainability policies (Net Zero). Daahir is experienced in a range of products and finishes, including insulating lime plaster lime render (inside and outside) and other breathable options.
Daahir works with trusted and skilled associates to complete larger jobs, but can also be flexible, and schedule smaller jobs in between the bigger ones.

Daahir named his business Amar because it means both ‘to love’ in Spanish, and ‘alive’ or ‘immortal’ in Arabic. Both senses of the word relate to our passion for heritage, sustainable materials, and healthy, livable buildings.
Daahir completed the William Morris Crafts Fellowship with the Society for the Protection of Ancient Buildings (SPAB) in 2022, specialising in traditional lime plaster and render. Daahir brings a sensitive approach to his work with heritage buildings, subscribing to the SPAB principles and ethos of building conservation.
Alongside his role in Amar Eco-Plaster, Daahir plays active roles in a number of charities. Over the years this has included organisations supporting refugee rights in Bristol, and more recently as a board member with the Building Limes Forum, and as a member of Heritage Craft’s Equality, Diversity and Inclusion committee.
In 2024 he ran a successful pilot training programme introducing refugees and asylum seekers to building conservation and lime plastering. He is now working to build on this concept and develop and expand the programme, working with a number of national partners.
